Zoda Lee Lawrence

Zoda Lee (Turner) Lawrence, 82, of Brady, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 in Brady. She was born in Mason County to Dan Turner and Mavis (Brown) Turner Hacker on July 20, 1938. She married Perry Allen (Shorty) Lawrence on October 21, 1954. He was the love of her life. Zoda loved being outside, she loved her greenhouse that dad built her. She also loved fishing and being around the reiver especially if it was moving. She took joy in the simple things like butterflies, and birds, and she always used it as a teaching moment to be gentle and do no harm. She would also hand you a lizard or snake if she had a chance. Her family was everything to her. She could cook up a storm and made the best chicken and dumplings and turkey and dressing…. Zoda is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant daughters, two brothers, Carrol, and Gerald Turner. Zoda is survived by son, Gary Lawrence of Lopez Island, Washington, daughter, Kelly Pierce and husband Johnny of Brady, Texas, three sisters, Margie Wagner and husband Brice of Bend, Texas, Eva Morgan and husband James of San Saba, Texas, Connie Turner and wife Mary of San Saba, Texas, brother, Rickey Turner of Lamesa, Texas, three grandchildren, Kathryn Morcher of Austin, Texas, Justin Pierce of Brady, Texas, Jessica Sims and husband Carl of Brady, Texas, eight great-grandchildren, Meagan, Justice, Sami, and Brock Pierce of Brady, Texas, Colson, and Olivia Sims of Brady, Texas, Violet, and Madrona Morcher of Austin, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews too many to count that she loves dearly. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Victory Harvest Church, 1003 Frisco Avenue / 83 North, Menard, Texas, 325-456-1297 with the Dr. Kenneth Hyatt and Pastor Cynthia Hyatt officiating. The service will be broadcasted live over the churches YouTube channel for friends and family that cannot attend the service. Go to YouTube and search Seeds of Victory Ministries Channel. Memorials may be given to the John Samuel Dagen Scholarship Fund at Rochelle ISD. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Brady.
