Virginia Perez

Virginia "Jenny" Lee Perez, born in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 26, 1949, went to be with her Lord and Savior, after suffering with metastatic appendix cancer for several years. She died at home, in Brady on February 5, 2023. Jenny, or "Nana" as she was affectionately known, unconditionally, unselfishly loved her family and supported them all her life. There was nothing more important to her than her family, and she is survived by her husband Manuel Perez, her children John Spidel and wife Nicole, daughter Kelly Renee Green and husband Chris, all of Brady, and grandchildren Kayelynn Green of Denver, Colorado, Tyler Elliott of Brady, and Olivia and Oliver Spidel of Brady, as well as numerous other family and friends. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to the beach, eating homemade chocolate chip cookies, being outside, country dancing, watching Andy Griffith, and spending time with friends and family, -especially spending quality time with her grandchildren Tyler, Kayelynn, Oliver, and Olivia, who she proudly doted over and spoiled every chance she got. Nana's favorite football teams were the Denver Broncos, and the Texas A&M Aggies. She enjoyed watching games with her family, especially her Grandson Tyler, who is a huge fan. She often received Aggies sweatshirts as gifts, or even commandeered them from Manuel's closet if needed. Nana was also passionate about her faith. She was Baptized and attended church at Redeemer Brady, and often leaned on her faith during difficult times. To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement. She will be remembered as a loving mother and Grandmother, a loyal and cherished wife, a kind hearted friend, and a genuinely good person. The family requests that in lieu of flowers and cards, donations be made to Hope From the Heart in Brady. Jenny's memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Redeemer Church, located at 200 West 4th Street, Brady, with visitation to follow. The memorial service will be preceded by a private interment. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Brady.
