Pete Lafuente

Pete Lafuente Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Brady, TX at 86 years old. Pete was born and raised in Brady, Texas on October 19, 1937, to Fernando Sr. and Rosa Lafuente. He married his high school sweetheart Dorothy Cordero on June 4, 1960. Pete and Dorothy went on to build a home and a family, blessed with three sons, Pete Lafuente Jr., Michael Lafuente, and Robert Lafuente. Pete served in the National Guard for 8 years, worked as a foreman at Loadcraft, Roddie Wool Plant, and for the Housing Authority for 24 years, where he retired. Pete was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, volunteering his time to build the church hall ramp and mowing the church grounds and priest's house yard regularly. Pete Lafuente Sr. was a generous, strong-willed, and kind person to all who knew him. He enjoyed sharing stories of his childhood and experiences with his family. He took great pleasure in watching westerns, telling stories, cracking jokes and helping anyone in need. Pete was a jack of all trades, enjoying restoring antique cars, building custom trailers, and home improvement projects. He was a hardworking, humble man who was dedicated to his family. Pete valued spending time with his family and friends, hosting many barbecues and family holidays. Pete lived a full life and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. His knowledge, love, and wisdom will live on through his family, passed down through his storytelling and the memories we have with him. Pete Lafuente Sr. is survived by his honey, Dorothy Lafuente; three sons, Pete Lafuente Jr., Michael Lafuente, Robert Lafuente; two brothers Gilbert Lafuente and Frank Lafuente Sr.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pete Lafuente Sr. is preceded in death by his parents Rosa and Fernando Lafuente Sr.; two brothers, Fernando Lafuente Jr. and Raymond Lafuente; two sisters, Lucia Lafuente and Carolyn Lafuente; granddaughter Stephanie Lafuente and great granddaughter Olivia James Dickens. Visitation and rosary will be held 5:30-7:30 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Heritage Funeral Home of Brady. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, October 23, 2024, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. Pallbearers will be Amadeo Morales Jr., Carlos Morales, Charles Lafuente, Frank Lafuente Jr., Ivan Huerta and Joseph Zornick. Memorials may be made to St Patrick's Catholic Church, P.O.
