Neleva Golding-Gardner

Neleva Golding-Gardner, age 91 of San Saba, Texas died Saturday morning at her beloved home in San Saba. Neleva Funderburk was born in San Saba, Texas on January 19, 1925 to Elgie Lee and Ora Lee Taylor Funderburk. She attended school in San Saba where she graduated from high school then she attended Durham's Business School in Austin, Texas. She came back to San Saba where she went to work at the San Saba Production Credit as the Assistant Treasurer until World War II was over. Then she married Paul Golding from San Saba Texas. They were married 56 wonderful years. The Golding family was the Ford Dealer in San Saba, Texas for over 77 years - becoming the 2nd single oldest "family owned" Ford Store in the state, with 3 generations of Golding's actively involved in the business, including all the family members. Paul & Neleva were blessed with one son, Kenneth Golding. During this time, the family also had other businesses, one of which was Golding Finance, Inc., which they conducted financing of vehicles for their customers, and Neleva kept the books for this company, and served as Vice-President over it, as well as other companies the family owned. Neleva was also a devoted member to the "Church of Christ" here in San Saba all her life. After Paul's death, she later married Lawrence "Ed" Gardner. They were married 3 years until Ed passed away. Neleva was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Golding, her parents: Elgie and Ora Lee, brothers: Clifford and Larry Funderburk and sister: Orleana House. Neleva was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother - having 3 wonderful grandkids, Taylor Golding Gohlke, Bre'Anne Golding, and Aungelique Golding, and step-mother to 2 great step-girls, Jan Hammond, and Ada Whisenhunt.... She was a wonderful cook, housewife, San Saba Armadillo fan, and devout Texas Ranger Baseball fan as well! She enjoyed working in the businesses, cooking, working in her yard, and worshipping her Lord and Savior. Neleva was a lady that when someone needed something, she was always there. Neleva always had all the correct answers to all of life's questions, and if she was ever wrong, you had to refer back to her rule, she was always right....... She always wanted the best for her family - both at home and Church. She was Loved by all - and will be missed by many!
