Maria Mendoza, affectionately known as "Wences" to friends and family, a steadfast pillar of love and devotion in her family and community, peacefully passed away to join her dearly departed family and the Lord, her ultimate source of strength. Born on September 28, 1952, Wences's 70 years of life were a testament to the power of love, resilience, and faith. Despite her lack of formal education, Wences possessed an innate wisdom that was both profound and touching. Much of her knowledge was self-taught, nurtured by helping her children with their studies, as she was their first and most important teacher. A sweet soul with a heart of gold, Wences carried an abundance of kindness that made her a beacon of hope and comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing her. A wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Wences wore many hats, each adorned with love and care. As a wife, she shared over 55 years of marriage with her husband, Francisco Mendoza, creating a union marked by unwavering loyalty and deep affection. As a mother, Wences raised four endearing children - Eleuterio Mendoza, Isabel Renz, Imelda Mello, and Candida Edwards. She remained the strong matriarch of her family, guiding them with steadfast principles and an unwavering faith in God. Her nurturing love even extended to her sons-in-law and daughter-in-law, whom she considered as her own. Her legacy lives on through her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, each carrying a part of her spirit within them. In her life, Wences faced heartrending losses, including the premature death of a young son and a granddaughter she never got to hold. Yet, she faced these trials with grace and faith, her love for the Lord undiminished. Her spiritual journey led her children to Jesus, providing them with a faith-filled roadmap for life. Now, Wences has embarked on her heavenly journey, reuniting with her parents and others who passed before her. She leaves a significant void in our hearts - friends, siblings, her dedicated husband, her children and their families. Although we no longer have her tangible presence among us, her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of each life she blessed. We remember Wences not with sadness, but with immense gratitude. For every life she enriched, every heart she comforted, and every soul she led towards a path of faith and love. Her memory will forever be a sweet melody to those who loved her, a testament to a life well-lived. Rest in peace, dear Wences.
