It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Laura Cowan, a truly extraordinary woman who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Laura departed this world on November 25, 2023 at the age of 56. Laura was a beacon of warmth and kindness, possessing a heart so immense that it seemed to touch everyone she encountered. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her selfless nature endeared her to those fortunate enough to be in her presence. She had an unparalleled ability to make others feel seen, valued, and loved. One of Laura's most remarkable qualities was her capacity to give the most incredible hugs and love all. Those fortunate enough to have experienced her embrace know that it was more than a simple gesture-it was a comforting balm for the soul. Her hugs had the power to heal, to reassure, and to express a depth of love that words could not adequately capture. Born on June 12, 1967, Laura lived a life filled with purpose and compassion. She dedicated herself to spreading joy, lending a helping hand, and creating a legacy of love that will continue to resonate in the lives of those she touched. Her impact reached far beyond the confines of her immediate circle, leaving an enduring imprint on the community and beyond. Laura leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will serve as an inspiration for generations to come. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the incredible life she lived and the countless lives she touched. Laura is preceded in death by mother Cathy McElwain, brother Tim Ellerbee, and husband Wesley F. Cowan Sr. She leaves this world to watch over her brothers Tom Ellerbee and Rick Ellerbee; Children: Leslie, Wesley, Brandy, Robyn, and Danny; Grandchildren: Kevin, Ethan, Jace, Madeline, Jaycob, Keira, Smythe, Caelyn, Autumn, Molly, Christopher, Kayden, Logan, Anastasia, Allie, and Saydi. A memorial service to honor and remember Laura will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 5-6pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas. May Laura's spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts, and may the memory of her love and the warmth of her hugs bring solace during this difficult time. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Momma. Your love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know you.
