Janice Morton

Janice Homan Morton Janice was born the second daughter to Troy and Thrace Homan on February 25,1936 in the University Hospital on the campus of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama one block away from the Crimson Tide practice field. Those who know Janice might suspect this had something to do with her being such an avid Crimson Tide fan but this remains conjecture. Janice graduated from Tuscaloosa High School as a proud member of the marching band where she was a majorette. With 150 members the band was considered to be one of the finest high school bands in the country and was invited to participate in the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago and the Blue Gray All Star Bowl Game. Janice attended LSU, the University of Alabama and graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Special Education. This led her into in the mental health field for which she had a passion working as a MH/MR professional for a number of years in both Georgia and Alabama. Because of family health issues, she left this work and moved to Huntsville, Alabama to help run the family business with her sister. After the death of her sister the business was sold and she relocated To Valdosta, Georgia to be close to her daughter and grandsons. After her marriage to Tom she moved to San Diego, California living there for ten years until they retired to Brownwood. After the last four years of declining health, Janice achieved peace on January 15,2023 and has gone to be with those who went before to be with Jesus. Janice was predeceased by both parents, her sister Jean Bibb, her daughter Lisa price and her first husband Clay Bostwick. She leaves behind her son Clint Bostwick (Patricia), son-in-law David Price, step daughter Sally Hoffman (Duane), four grandsons, one great grandson and her husband Tom. The family invites all friends of Janice to join the family in a celebration of her life at the Davis Morris Chapel Tuesday, January 31 at 6:00. Rather than flowers, anyone desiring to honor Janice's memory with a memorial is invited to consider the Butler Class at First Baptist Brownwood.
