J.F. Lilly

J. F. Lilly of Brady, Texas passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the age of 84. Services will be held at Sunset Ridge Church of Christ at 10:00 A.M. on December 23, 2016, officiated by grandson, Josh Lilly, with burial to follow at Voca Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on December 22, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Home. J.F. received his Bachelor's degree from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX with many hours to follow from Texas A&M in Stephenville, TX. J.F. was a respected teacher and coach in many schools through out Texas and New Mexico, where he is remembered very fondly by his students as having a heart of gold. J. F. was born on March 25, 1932 in Weatherford County, Texas to John Frank and Vera Florence (Brannon) Lilly also known as Ma Lilly and Daddy Frank. On October 11, 1952 he married the love of his life, Anna Yvonne Clevenger at Fairground Road Church of Christ in San Angelo, TX. Together they were blessed with four children. The Lilly's had been married for 64 years at the time of J F's passing on December 19, 2016. Mr. Lilly was a Korean War Veteran, where he served in the Air Force. He was known for his service as an Ordained Minister of the Gospel. At the time of his passing he was the preacher at the Voca Church of Christ in Voca TX. He mentored children thru out the states of Texas and New Mexico, where he was often called Dad by many. He enjoyed collecting rocks and making beautiful jewelry from his many finds. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. J.F. loved his family dearly and also had a great love for his fellow man. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne, two sisters; Zelphia Mae Herring of Artesia New Mexico, Irma Florence Henson, spouse Ed of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one brother; Will Kirby Lilly of Brenham, TX. Three sons; Chester Frank Lilly of Brady, Marshall Blaine Lilly, spouse Molly of Baytown, Tx, Brian Keith Lilly, spouse Zsuzsanna of Hagerman, New Mexico. One daughter; Melodia Ann Robinson, spouse, Robbie of Lake Arthur, New Mexico along with 13 grandchildren; Garrett Woods, Aimee Hill, Chase Lilly, Ashlie Woods, Trisha Sokoll, Lindsey Coleman, Josh Lilly, Ben Lilly, Seth Lilly, Ethen Lilly, Emily Earle, Seren Lilly, Jeremiah Hawkins, Angela Hawkins, Joshua Hawkins, Ruthanne Hawkins and 14 great grand-children. Two very special foreign exchange students from South America; Valeria Galvez`-Pique` and William Bieler. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Euless Lilly and John Alva Lilly.
