Roland Ernest Gass

April 21, 1948 - April 6, 2021

Roland Ernest Gass passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the age of 72. Roland died peacefully at his home in Brady, TX with his beloved wife Rosalyn and their children by his side. Roland was born in New Braunfels on April 21, 1948, to father Roland Bruno Gass and mother Betty Jo Redus. He spent most of his childhood causing mischief in San Antonio and New Braunfels. Roland was drafted in the Army in 1968. He worked for a civilian officer in South Korea and helped transport supplies during the Vietnam War. Once home, he married the love of his life, Rosalyn on May 2, 1970. Roland loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed a Lone Star longneck ‘occasionally’, harassing his family and talking to anyone who would listen. Roland loved his wife, children and grandsons more than life itself. He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years Rosalyn, daughter Rochelle Davis and spouse Bruce, son Robert Gass and spouse Julie, daughter Roxanne Kohlleppel and spouse Thomas, son Roger Gass and spouse Eric Conrad, as well as his three grandsons, Bryan & Bryce Davis and Hunter Kohlleppel, his stepbrother Jimmy Redus and spouse Lupe, along with a long list of in-laws, nieces and nephews that he adored. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Charlie Polasek and mother-in-law Mary Polasek. A special thank you to the Hospice of San Angelo for their loving care and support. A visitation will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 between 3pm - 7pm at the Gass family home in Brady. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Brady.
