Janie Jean McCormick, 40, of Copperas Cove, Texas passed away at her residence on April 4, 2021. She was born in Austin, Texas to Patrick and Janet Walsh McCormick on July 23, 1980. After growing up in Austin, she moved to Copperas Cove seven years ago. Janie graduated from Bowie High School. She was a dog groomer and worked at Petco in Harker Heights. She was a true dog lover. Janie loved to fish, mostly on Padre Island. Ms. McCormick is preceded in death by her father, Patrick McCormick. She is survived by her mother, Janet Walsh of Lometa, Texas, one son, Michael Durst of Tempe, Arizona, her boyfriend Russell Hobbs of Copperas Cove, one brother, Kyle Walsh of Austin and one sister, Staci Waggoner of Leavenworth, Kansas. There are also 4 nieces and 2 nephews that are surviving. There will be a memorial service for Janie on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas, Texas, with Ricky Thornton officiating. Memorial donations in Janie’s memory may be made to ASPCA. Arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Lampasas.
