Claudia Poole

November 21, 1934 - October 30, 2021

Claudia Poole, 86, of San Saba, passed away on Saturday October 30, 2021, while hospitalized in Fredericksburg, Texas. Claudia was born November 21, 1934, the daughter of Vurnal & Edna Tyler. She came from a family of 6 children and spent her time, when not in school, working alongside her family. Her parents predeceased her. Her siblings and their spouses, Sara Smith , married to John Smith (John now deceased), Susie Harkey, married to Jimmie Harkey, Pat West, married to Bill West, V.C. Tyler and Monroe Tyler, married to Sandy Tyler (Monroe now deceased) remain a close family, watching out for each other to this day. She was known as “Sister” to her parents and siblings. No one was an in-law, everyone was a brother or sister in this family. Claudia married soon out of high school to Alton B. Moore and moved to San Antonio. She worked part-time jobs while she raised their family of three children. She is preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Alta M. Carreon in 2013, and she has 2 children, 5 grand-children and 10 great-grandchildren surviving her. Her living children are daughter, Evelyn M. Leathers, married to Stephen Leathers, from Corona California, and her son, Paul D. Moore from San Saba. Her grandchildren are Nicole Pacheco and her husband Robert Pacheco IV, Nicolas Carreon, Natalie Carreon, Kenneth Moore and Erica Croft with her husband Brian Croft. Her great grandchildren are Alita Pacheco, Robert Pacheco V, Zoey Carreon, Ian Carreon, Kaitlynn Moore, Karson Moore, Kinzee Moore, Kameron Moore, Lily Croft and William Croft. During her time as a civil servant at Kelly Air Force Base, Claudia transferred from Texas to Ohio and lived there for several years and then returned to San Antonio until she retired. Upon retirement she took up her last residency, back where she started, in San Saba, where her mother and several siblings were located. It wasn’t unusual to find any of them together playing card games, dominoes or board games. Claudia always enjoyed time with her entire family. She could always be found cooking alongside her mother and sisters for those special family meals. Claudia will always be remembered as a generous, kind and loving person, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba, Texas.
