Wanda Jean Knight

Wanda Jean Knight, 89, entered heaven's gates on Thursday, May 24th. Services will be Tuesday May 29, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. graveside at Rest Haven Cemetery. There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m. just prior to the service at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Wanda was born January 26, 1929 to Edwin Al and Anna Belle (Armstrong) Turner in Abilene, Texas. She met Hubert Kenneth Knight and the two were married on July 16, 1948. They had two children, Kenneth (Kenny) Edwin Knight and Lou Ann (Knight) Rogers. Wanda and family moved around to different places due to Ken's job. Wanda was a very talented artist in freehand drawing and oil painting. She loved to paint birds and flowers. She won many awards over the years at several local art shows. She was also a perfectionist and if she didn't like how a painting was turning out-she would set it to the side to finish later. Wanda loved traveling with her son Kenny and grandson Jarrod to Cloudcroft, NM. She looked forward to their annual trips. Occasionally Lou Ann would join and the four would have fun exploring and hiking. Wanda loved her family very much. She was a caretaker for her sister-in-law Bobbi Dittel and helped many other friends around Menard as well. She loved shopping, diet Dr, Pepper, any type of dessert, and cats, she could make the best pea salad and icebox lemon pie ever! Wanda is survived by her Brother-in-law, Jerry Knight & Wife Fran, son-in-law Skeet Rogers, daughter-in-law Annette Knight, granddaughter Mandy Rogers Bushell and husband Colby, grandson's Justin Rogers and Jarrod Knight and wife Jessica; great grandchildren, Destiny, Josh, Carter, Jaden and Mason. Also survived by nieces; Teri Knight Peck and Geri Knight Spencer. Wanda is preceded in death by her parent's Edwin and Anna Belle Turner, husband Hubert Kenneth Knight, son Kenneth (Kenny) Knight, daughter Lou Ann Rogers and sister-in-law Bobbi Dittel. Deepest Appreciation to Debbie Stuckey for her compassionate care of Wanda. Also, many feelings of gratitude to the Menard Manor and Hospice of San Angelo for the wonderful care and support during her stay.
