Sherrie Hodges

Sherrie Euvenia Norton Hodges passed away at the age of 75 on Monday, December 26, 2022, at approximately 1:00 p.m. after a lengthy illness. Sherrie was a lifelong resident of McCulloch County. She was born on March 6,1947,in Brady, Texas to W.W. "Pete" and Euvenia Norton. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday 12/31/2022 Heritage Funeral Home in Brady, Texas followed by a graveside service at Marion Cemetery in Lohn, Tx. A visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday 12/30/2022 from 5:00 PM-7:00PM. She married the love of her life Jimmie Cole Hodges of Brady, Texas, March 1,1975, and they raised a happy family of five children together during their 44 years of marriage. Their children include Michael Hodges, Jodie Hodges Franz, Charles Hodges, Jimmy Hinds and Codie Hodges. Much of their early life together was spent raising the kids on ranches throughout West Texas before ultimately moving the family back home to Brady, Texas, where she and Jimmie were in business together as restaurant owners. Sherrie loved to spend time camping with her family, fishing and gambling with her sisters-in-law, hosting barbecues in their backyard with lifelong family friends from the trucking industry and going out dancing with her husband Jimmie. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her large family. The door to her house was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay, and over the years she kept many of our friends as if they were her own children. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.W. "Pete" and Euvenia Norton; her two brothers Warren Norton and Bruce Norton; and an infant son Jimmy Guy Hinds, as well as her beloved husband Jimmie Cole Hodges. She is survived by her son Michael Hodges and wife Nita of Voca, Texas; her daughter Jodie Hodges Franz and husband Kevin of Brady; her son Charles Hodges and wife Ruby of Carlsbad, Tx; her son Jimmy Hinds of Brady, and her daughter Codie Hodges of Brady. She is also survived by her grandchildren Steven Perry and wife Joan of San Angelo; Kyria Hodges and husband Ray Dean of Lubbock; Cole Franz and wife Chelsea of Miles, Ambree Rivas and husband Lyrick of Michigan; Alec Hinds of Odessa; Dustin Hodges and wife April of Menard; Kacy Rowley of Voca; Anna Franz and Landon Schwertner of Brady; Simon Guzman, Chloe Guzman, Grace Franz and Katie Franz all of Brady; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
