Sandra Kaye Nichols Allen

Sandra Nichols Allen, 77, formerly of Coahoma, Denver City, Odessa, and McKinney passed away peacefully on November 13, 2021 in her Lampasas home surrounded by her loved ones. At her request, two memorial services will be held: Sat., December 4th at 2pm at the Llano Church of Christ, Troy Singleton officiating, and Sat., December 11th at 2pm at the Coahoma Church of Christ, Eddy Pitchford officiating Sandra Kaye Nichols was born February 28, 1944 in Big Spring, TX to Houston Monroe and Doris Othelle Roberson Nichols. She had 2 brothers: Douglas Monroe Nichols and Max Dean Nichols. While in school, she was known for her mean right hook shot at the top of the basketball key, her cheerleading, and the fastest shorthand in land which helped her land the 1962 Valedictorian honor at Coahoma High School, but she gave up her full ride scholarship to be married to Royce D. Aberegg on June 1, 1962 and to raise a family. During that time, they had two children: Russell D. and Dina Deann. They enjoyed spending time with their parents and their full families including siblings/spouses, aunts/uncles, and multiple nieces/nephews on both sides of the Nichols and Aberegg families. They also enjoyed attending church, playing tennis and Friday night board & card games in both Denver City and Odessa. Sandra was a loving life, caring mother, fantastic domestic engineer extraordinaire, and very dear friend. She was equally tenacious and driven in her oilfield career working her way up from a low-level clerk’s position to the first female manager of an oil field supply company at Dunigan Tool & Supply, where she met and cultivated life-long friendships. In 1983, she met Jack Winburn and they were married on June 2, 1987. They enjoyed ballroom dancing, especially the jitterbug, and playing tennis. During this time, she worked her way up the ladder again at several places in the DFW area, Dallas Systems and Forestwood Bank (to mention a few) where she also cultivated work family relationships. Jack and Sandra decided to start and work their own real estate business; however, if the grandbabies were in town, they would shut it down to enjoy their grandkids of whom they all adored: Austin, Ryan, Katie, Russell Christopher, and Collin. Jack passed away unexpectedly in February 2000. On February 14, 2007, she married her longtime childhood friend, Jerry Bozy Allen of whom she adored. They became full time RVers for 10 years where they would drive across the United States, enjoy God’s beautiful country, and get to know others on their journey. During their travels, they would always ensure they attended church to worship the Lord. Sandra embraced the bonus mom role with Jerry Dee (Audra) and Kristie Lianne as well as the Grammy role with Luke, Nash, Macy, Millie and Callie. She loved them equally as her own. Sandra adored her family and friends, all of them, no matter the color of their skin or the content of their heart’s, she just ‘loved’ them right where they were – good, bad, indifferent, she always saw the best in each person. Throughout her life there were 2 constants: Jesus Christ and Velia Coleman. Preceding her in death were multiple family members whom we love and miss dearly. Survivors include her husband; Jerry B. Allen of Lampasas, her children; Russell D. Aberegg of Lampasas, Jerry D. Allen (Audra) of Wylie, Dina D. Aberegg Holt (Donnie Jones) of San Angelo, Kristie L. Allen of McKinney, her grandchildren; Austin Ray Holt (Brittany), Ryan D. Holt (Tammy), Katie Sue-Ann Holt Lehrman (Waylon “Josh”), Russell Christopher Van Looy, Luke Austin Allen, Collin Lee Holt, Nash Houston Allen, Macy Nicole Allen, Millie and Calie, her great-grandchildren; Abel, Neil, Huckston, Dawson Kaye, Naivy and Baby Boy Lehrman, her brother; Max Nichols (Jan), her pseudo-sisters; Johnnie Lou Service (Bill), Jan Nichols, Debbie Boles (Charley) and Yvonne Groves (Chuck), her immediate nephews/niece; Brant Nichols, Kevin Nichols (Jaime), and Melissa Nichols Talbott (Jeremy), her best friend; Velia Coleman (Jason), their best friends; Wayne and Ida Leviston, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. SHE LOVED US ALL MORE THAN CHOCOLATE! Sandra loved red roses and flowering plants.
