Kathryn Jackson

Kathryn Sue Jackson, known affectionately as Kathy, passed away on May 15, 2024, at the age of 66. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Kathy's life was marked by love, faith, and kindness. Born on November 12, 1957, Kathy grew up in a modest, close-knit family where her parents instilled in her a strong sense of community, compassion, and selflessness. She shared a lifelong bond with her 4 siblings filled with love, admiration, and appreciation. As a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Kathy was loving, proud, supportive, tolerant, and willing to sacrifice all that she had for her family's joy and wellbeing. Kathy's compassion and generosity as an aunt was unmatched as she loved and admired all her nieces and nephews as much as her own siblings. Kathy's devotion to her faith was unwavering. She found solace in worship and prayer, and her relationship with the Lord was central to her life. She was truly a child of the God and a stranger to the world. Beyond her spiritual journey, Kathy had a creative spirit that often projected her faith. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and baking, often sharing her talents with others. Professionally, Kathy dedicated her life to drafting in the civil engineering industry serving the Greater Houston area until her retirement in 2023. She worked on many projects like water shed for the city and rerouting traffic for downtown Houston during major road improvement programs. In the face of an aggressive cancer diagnosis, Kathy fought courageously for eight months. Surrounded by her family, she peacefully passed away at home. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Preceded by and laid to rest with her father James Jackson. Survived by her mother Floy Jackson, sisters Gayle (Roger) Reinoehl, Debbie Baucom, Cyndy (Dave) Rutledge, brother Jeff (Ada) Jackson, son Joshua (Janet)Berlin, granddaughters Emily Berlin, Sarah (Randy) Lagrimini, and great-granddaughter Riley Lagrimini. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM - 11:00AM Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Heritage Funeral Home of Brady. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Heritage Funeral Home of Brady with Virgil Webb from the Sunset Ridge Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at the Rochelle Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Berlin, Jeff Jackson, Joel Jackson, Evan Jackson, Carl Lohn, Roger Reinoehl.
