Julie Cliett

Julie Megahan Cliett gained her heavenly wings on August 31, 2023, at age 82 and joined her beloved James. She was born February 19, 1941, in Lincoln, Nebraska, in the middle of a snowstorm to Donald Milton and Wilma Pearl Parks Megahan. Julie was a special education teacher for many years. She loved to scrapbook and make daily trips to Sonic for a Route 44 Diet Coke with a splash of lime. She cherished spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She taught the grandkids how to play many card games that they still play to this day. She was known for her award-winning pecan pie recipe and won the blue-ribbon pie contest at the New Mexico state fair. Julie was handy at cross stitch, ceramics, sewing and would hand-make Christmas ornaments each year for every family member. For many years, she and James devoted time to the Gideons and after moving to Weatherford she drove to several Veterinary offices and doctors' offices to drop off Gideon bibles. On August 2, 2020, Julie journaled "God never promised it would be easy, but He did promise you'll never be alone. He has a plan for your life, your heart and it's good". Julie is preceded in death by her husband James Cliett, her parents Don and Wilma Megahan and her brother David Megahan. She is survived by her three children, Paige(Johnny) Hicks, John(Darla) Pollard and Ronnie (Fiancé' Krysla) Pollard. She was known as "Granny Girl" to her four grandchildren, John(Amanda) Hicks, Cassie(Cody) Marshall, Kalyssa(Kris) Creed and Chancey(Josh) Fairless, and six great grandchildren, JL, James, and Anna Hicks, Reagan and Skyler Creed, and Waylon(with Paisley making her debut in December) Fairless. Her surviving siblings include Don, Michael, Gwyn, Steve and Timothy(who are twins, but Paige called them the two Timmy's when she was younger as she could not tell them apart) Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Bible Church in the Student Ministry Building, 4936 E. I-20 Service Road South, Willow Park, Texas 76087. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make donations to the Gideons Organization in remembrance of Julie.
