Dovie Glenn

Dovie Lee Glenn, age 83, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, in Copperas Cove, Texas. Dovie was born on January 15, 1939, in Brady, Texas to Earl Alexander and Lillie Lee (Friar) Williams. She married Dennis Glenn on November 3, 1964. They spent forty-seven years together building a life and a home until his passing in April of 2012. Dovie had lived in Brady off and on her whole life, and she loved it here. She obtained her LVN certification and loved being a nurse and worked many years at Sheffield Nursing Home. She loved crocheting and playing video games, which she generally beat the grandkids at. She also loved to go shopping, particularly for purses and shoes, and watching TV especially Roseanne and Reba. Above all else, Dovie loved being a Nana, and she loved her family very much. She really cared a lot about her brothers and sisters. When she started having health issues, she showed she was the toughest woman around and faced with head-on with strength and courage. Dovie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dennis; four children, Randall Johnson, Sheliene Covey, Jacqueline Johnson and Denise Glenn; siblings, Leon Williams, Joyce Whitefield and Sharion Morris; great-grandson, Braydon Brouillette; and grandson-in-law, AJ Brouillette. Left behind to cherish her memory are one son, David Johnson of San Angelo, Texas; one daughter, Teresa McArthur and husband Bob of Rotan, Texas; one brother, James Williams of Abilene, Texas; one sister, Jolene Tabor of Brady, Texas; ten grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two grandchildren she raised as her own; and several extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 31, 2022, in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Brady with Robert Whitefield and Randy Covey officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
