Wayland Glenn Kelley

Wayland Glenn Kelley, 69, longtime resident of Lake Victor, Texas passed away on March 1, 2023, in Austin, Texas. He was born on May 26, 1953 in Sweetwater, Texas to Durwood Knight Kelley and Willow Jo (Hallabough) Kelley. He was a member of the Lake Victor Baptist Church. He and Donna Amidon were married on August 9, 1980, at Lake Victor Baptist Church. He worked for Burnet County for over 30 years as a road foreman, caring for county roads and bridges. He then worked for Star Propane until retirement. Wayland had been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lake Victor for many years. As a Freemason he helped and cared for many people. He served on the Burnet County Child Welfare Board. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was known to be an excellent marksman. Mr. Kelley loved to feed folks good food, he was an excellent cook. He had been President at the Lake Victor Community Center where he was instrumental in hosting the Lake Victor Homecoming for many years, and where he was able to share his famous bar-b-que. Wayland was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was devoted to his family and loved to spend time with them above all. Wayland is survived by his wife, Donna Kelley of Lake Victor, two daughters, Oleta Kelley of Lake Victor, Barbara Jowers of Burnet County, two brothers, Shawn Kelley and wife Avis, Shane Kelley and wife Farrah, both of Lake Victor and one sister Connie Roark and husband Ronnie of Floresville. He is blessed by grandchildren, Gage, Aleea and Lorena, Deborah Soell and Raymond (Bub) Jowers and great grandchildren, Brandon Keefer, Jesse Jowers, Jayden, Noah and Zhavia Williams, and Haden and Camdon Soell. He is also survived by numerous other loving extended family members and friends. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Cauble Cemetery in Lake Victor, Burnet County, Texas, officiated by Doug Lindley and including Masonic funeral rites. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Wayland Kelley. Arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Lampasas.
