Rhonda Denise Johnson

Rhonda Denise Johnson, 18, of Brady, and formerly of Hamlin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, in San Antonio. Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm, Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. Funeral service will immediately follow at 2 pm at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. Pastors Stan and Robin Tittle with Hamlin Foursquare Church in Hamlin, Texas, will officiate. Rhonda was born on March 22, 1995, in Abilene, Texas, to William D. Johnson and Tonyia Denise (Turner) Johnson. Rhonda grew up and attended school in Hamlin and had moved to Brady in July, 2013. She attended Hamlin Foursquare Church. Rhonda had an outgoing personality and loved spending time with family and friends. She had remained friends with some of her classmates since Kindergarten. Though she spent much of her lifetime fighting her illnesses, she still loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved back-roading or walking down dirt roads with her friends, playing video games and watching movies-all the typical, teenage girl things to do. She also loved to cook and would cook for all her family and friends when they came over. Rhonda loved animals and had named every animal she ever had-goats and chickens included. She was always smiling and was tougher than nails; but was still her "Daddy's baby girl" and loved going fishing with him. She was a joy to be around and will be missed beyond words by all those who knew and loved her. Rhonda was preceded in death by; paternal grandfather, Jack Ezell; maternal grandparents, Wanda and J.W. Turner; step-grandfather, Wayne Scott; aunt, Wanda Sue Smith; and cousin, Johnathon Woodlock. Survivors include: her parents, William and Tonyia Johnson of Brady; four brothers; Kevin Johnson of Katy; Shame Johnson of Katy; Charles Johnson, and wife Mandy, of Trinity; and Jack Johnson of Brady; grandmother; Margaret Ezell of Brady; niece, Kaylee and nephew, Kyle, both of Trinity; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; friends in Hamlin and Brady; special, lifelong friend, Elizabeth Schisler, of Hamlin, and her two companions, Chica and Tinker. Memorials are requested to the National Kidney Foundation or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
