Arturo Martinez Aguirre of Melvin, Texas peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by family on September 29, 2024. He was born in Melvin on February 14, 1951, to Tomasa Martinez Aguirre and Jose Aguirre, where he lived most of his life before moving to brady. He married the love of his life Maria Guadalupe Ibarra Aguirre "Honey Boo" on February 7, 1973, in San Angelo, Tx. Soon after they started their family and were blessed with five children and then were blessed with many grandchildren and great - grandchildren. He was a hard working and loving man who dedicated his life3 to his family. For most of his life he worked as a welder and later enjoyed working as a cook. When at home he was always barbecuing for his friends and family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great - grandfather. He loved to be outdoors, whether it be cooking, fishing, camping, sight-seeing, and especially back roading. At times you could find him playing along on his guitar to all his favorite songs and dancing with his wife and children. Arturo was so proud of all his children, grandchildren and great - grandchildren. You could find him often out at the football field, baseball park, or soccer fields watching them play sports. He was also a beloved cousin, uncle, nephew, and friend to many. We are all going to miss his stubborn, silly, and loving ways. The impact he had on his family will be one we will all remember, and we thank him for all the memories he has made with us all. "He sowed seeds of love and wisdom here on earth that will continue to bloom forever. It's time for him to rest in peace." Arturo is proceeded in death by his parents Jose and Tomasa Aguirre, brothers Alejandro Aguirre, Pedro Aguirre, Jose Aguirre Jr., Victor Aguirre, sister Isabel Mireles, grandson Mark Anthony Aguirre and daughter - in - law Toni Muniz. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, October 4, 2024, at Heritage Funeral Home of Brady. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Heritage Funeral Home of Brady with Fernando Nandin Officiating. Burial will follow at the Melvin Cemetery in Melvin.
