Wanda Louise Phillips

December 16, 1953 - March 3, 2022

Wanda Louise Phillips, 68, of Lampasas, passed away on March 3, 2022, at Lily Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lampasas. Wanda had lived most of her life in Lampasas. She was born on December 16, 1953, in Austin, Texas to Benny and Gladys (Stinnett) Brown. She graduated from Lampasas High School and then went to cosmetology school. She worked for over 40 years as a hairdresser, managing several salons and finally owning and operating her own shop. She was a member of the Church of the Hills, in Lometa, Texas and was a member of the praise team there for several years until illness prevented her from participating. Wanda loved, Jesus, the Bible, animals, her family, especially her grandchildren, friends, and her church family. She was a sports fan, having played softball for several years. She loved the Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and the Roundrock Express. Wanda was an avid reader of Christian novels. She is survived by two sons, Heath Phillips and wife Tonya of Lampasas, and Corey Phillips and wife Paula of Kingsland, two daughters, Samantha Phillips of Cedar Park and Courtney Vaughan and husband Adam of Lewisville, Texas, four brothers, Bobby, Lester, Gary, and Ty Brown and five precious grandchildren, Jaden Phillips, Callie Phillips, Lexy Wangler, Adam Vaughan, Jr., and Alison Vaughan and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Maxine Brown Moore. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on March 9, 2022, with visitation one hour prior at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas. Burial will follow at Warner Cemetery in Burnet County, Texas. Chance Carter will officiate the service. Memorial donations in Mrs. Phillips memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org.
