BRASINGTON, Thomas “Tommy” Gordan Jr, 43 years young was born April 11, 1978 and died on January 23, 2022, after a courageous fight with COVID-19. Currently of Lampasas TX, and formerly of Fort Polk Louisiana where he proudly served as an Army Staff Sergeant in the 1st Battalion (Airborne), 509th Infantry. Tommy was a graduate of Springfield High School in Holland, OH, Class of 96. He attended Nyack College, NY receiving his bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry in 2002, where he also played in two Baseball NCCAA World Series. He later received his second bachelor’s degree as an Information Technology Specialist with the United States Army, followed by his master’s degree in Technology Management at Trident University (Summa Cum Laude). He was medically retired from the United States Army with numerous awards and decorations and spent the last 9 years as a Campus Technologist Support Specialist for KISD, Killeen, TX. Tommy was a diehard Ohio State football fan and a discouraged New York Jets fan. He absolutely loved singing and did it loud and proud. For many years he was a dedicated volunteer coach for the Ellison Eagles High School Baseball team. Tommy and his wife enjoyed wine tasting, road trips, and weekends on the golf course with close friends. He lit up every room with his infectious laugh. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Meghan. Father; Thomas Gordan Brasington, Sr. of SC, Mother; Sandra Brasington, OH, two brothers; Jason (Emily Therrien) Brasington SC, Michael “B” (Cindy) Brasington, OH, two sisters; Tracey (Marty) Forgione, TX, Elizabeth Korsog, OH, Father and Mother-in-law; Ronald and Sharon Ouellette; Brother-in-law Kevan Ouellette; several nieces and nephews and his beloved four-legged children Hank, Brodie, Oskar, and Willie. Never forgetting the brothers in arms of the 1st 509th. Tommy, I will always love you and you will always be my “Cheetah Bear”, this world is darker without you in it. - Meghan Private visitation was held Tuesday for the family, public visiting hours are on Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 4-8:00pm at the Heritage Funeral Home, 401 North Key Ave, Lampasas, TX 76550. A military service followed by a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in 2022.
