Patsy Theodora Ransom

September 7, 1936 - September 29, 2021

Patsy Phillips Ransom, age 85, went to meet the Lord on a trail lined with native flowers on September 29,2021. Patsy was born in Mason Texas on September 7, 1936, to Mamie and Henry Phillips. She grew up a hard worker on her parents farm in Hext, TX. She loved school in Menard and was a twirler all of her years in school. She married her friend, Lewis Ransom, on November 27,1953. She drove Lewis to Mexico to get married and knew that her life would be challenging having a husband with Polio. She devoted 51 years of her life to taking great care of him. They had one daughter Su Ransom Carlile. They moved the family, house and all, from Menard, to a small farm in Junction where they settled and established a prize-winning pecan orchard. Patsy was proud of her wonderful pecans and many people were able to enjoy them in her baking. Although she stayed busy, she always had time for friends to stop by for a visit. No one ever left empty handed or with an empty stomach. Patsy was as good at baking, sewing, or gardening as she was cutting wood or fixing a broken-down car. She also took the Master Naturalist class in her 70's and loved helping out in the community with these projects. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Junction and very active when possible. Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis, and both of her brothers Douglas and Roger Phillips. Patsy leaves behind many wonderful family memories with her daughter Su Carlile and husband George; grandson Randy Carlile and wife Maegin, their two sons Garrett and Gatlin Carlile; a granddaughter Haleigh Oneal and her husband Monty and son Kyler Oneal; two sister- in- laws Linda Phillips; and Tommie Phillips, her sons, Chad, and Colby. The family would like to say thank you to the Menard Manor for years of care and Hospice of San Angelo for their service. Graveside services will be held at Little Saline Cemetery on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Menard.
