Lewis Jordan

July 12, 1927 - November 15, 2021

Lewis Jordan, age 94, passed from this life on Monday, November 15, 2021 in Brady. Lewis was born on July 12, 1927 in Placid, Texas to Allen and Velma (Deeds) Jordan. He was a resident of McCulloch County for 70 years. He graduated from Rochelle High School. He then attended John Tarleton Jr. College, the Bank Administration Institute, and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southwestern Methodist University. Lewis began working for Brady National Bank on September 1, 1951, and he remained there until his retirement on December 31, 1992 where he served as President, CEO and Director. He also served as the President of Brady Housing Authority, President of the Heart of Texas Hospital Board, Treasurer of the American Cancer Society, President of the McCulloch County United Fund, Director of both the Brady Chamber of Commerce and the West Texas Chamber of Commerce, Secretary and Treasurer of the Ole Hound Dawg Club, President of the Brady Band Boosters, and was on the Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Lewis also was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Navy in the Pacific and Asiatic theaters. Lewis married Bobbie Lee Hodges on May 24, 1950, and they were married 55 years and 9 months until her passing on February 24, 2006. He later married Marti Stacks on November 1, 2008, and they spent 13 years in love and laughter. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bobbie Lee Jordan, siblings Dean Jordan, Elward Jordan and Dale Jordan. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Marti Jordan; son, Alan Lee Jordan and wife Tina; two grandsons, Lane Jordan and wife Caitlin and Aaron Lee Jordan; brother, Wayland Jordan; and several extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of San Angelo and the Heart of Texas Bible Camp. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Sunset Ridge Church of Christ with Minister Virgil Webb officiating.
