Kenneth Lee Killingsworth, Sr., was born in Brady, Texas on August 14, 1939. He passed away on August 14, 2021, in Lampasas, Texas. He was the only child of Ira Lee Killingsworth and Willie Mae Young Killingsworth. The family moved from Lohn in McCullough County to Brady and then to Brownwood. Kenneth attended school in Brownwood and in Early, where he participated in rodeo activities and FFA. Kenneth was the husband of Frances Miles Killingsworth for 61 years. They lived in Brownwood, San Angelo, Abilene, and then moved to Lampasas fifty plus years ago. Their children and their spouses are Kenneth Lee Killingsworth, Jr., and wife Prue; Ann Killingsworth Langley, and husband Ricky; and Beth Killingsworth Parker, and husband David. Kenneth served two years in the U. S. Army during which time the Cuban Crisis occurred. He worked for Lydick Roofing Company, The Edgerite Corporation, and the Texas Department of Transportation. He was involved in training horses, raising livestock, and roping events. He was a rodeo fan, and a member of NOTRA. He instilled in his children a love of rodeo and roping events during their childhood. He was a loyal supporter of his wife’s interest in sports. He accompanied her to Baton Rouge, Virginia Beach, Atlanta, Denver, Pittsburgh, Louisville, and St. George, Utah. Frances’ sports friends loved him, and he served as the traveling videographer and photographer on the trips. Kenneth was the proud grandfather of Wade Langley, and wife Nicole, Alandra Killingsworth, Alexi Kaufert, Sarah Killingsworth, and LeeAnn Parker. He felt very blessed by his great grandchildren, Brekyn and Beckett Langley. Other close relatives who survive him are nephew, Mark Reynolds, two nieces, Debbie Herring, and husband Mike, Vickie Schuster, and husband Mark, and sister-in-law Louise Miles. His cousins Roy Cox, Sandra Seelig, and Gilbert Young also survive him. Close family friends, Vicki and Skip Taylor, and Dennis and Lenora Langley survive, along with many other dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and cousins, Betty Stephens, Marjean Heath, Ray Don Turner and Leo Turner. Kenneth was a loving Dad, son, grandson, grandpa, and husband. Known for his “PaPa-isms”, he had a great sense of humor, bringing much happiness and laughter to his family and friends. Kenneth’s unique outlook on life made our world a wonderful place. The Celebration of Life for Kenneth will be at 3:30 PM on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Adelphia in Lampasas, 101 FM 580 East. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kenneth’s name may be made to the Shive Cemetery Fund in care of, Frances Killingsworth, 803 Georgetown Road, Lampasas, Texas 76550.
