Joe Bailey Tipton, Jr.

August 25, 1929 - January 14, 2022

Joe B. Tipton went to be with the lord on January the 13th 2022 at the age of 92. He was born August 25, 1929, in Menard, Texas to Joe B. Tipton Sr and Ola Hall Tipton. Joe was a graduate of the Menard High School class of 1947. Where he was also Menard's #12 quarterback, and his high school sweetheart Dorothy was part of the cheering squad. Joe B & Dorothy married in 1949, then moving to Odessa, Tx where Joe worked in construction, and their daughter Jo Nell would be born. Joe B & Dorothy and young daughter then moved to Colorado where Joe B. Bought a ranch. While living the ranch life In Colorado, Joe and Dorothy would welcome their newborn son Joe Bud Tipton, born in Steamboat, Colorado. Joe B & Dorothy spent some time in Colorado, then decided to move to Gallup, NM. After spending a few years there, they decided to buy a piece of the old Tipton Ranch in Menard, Texas in 1984. In 1986 they decided it was time to move back home to Menard, Texas and establish the ranch to be their new home. In 1994 Joe B. traveled to Canada to buy some traditional Boer Goats. Joe B and his family would spend the next 28 years raising a breeding Boer goats, from solid black Boers to dapples. Joe B & his family are very proud of their accomplishments with the raising and breeding of these goats. In 2018 Joe's beautiful bride of 69 years would go to be with the lord, saddened by the loss of his high school sweetheart, Joe B continued to carry everyday with love and passion of his and Dorothy's accomplishments. Knowing someday he would be reunited with his bride. Joe B enjoyed spending time on his ranch with his family, he enjoyed helping so many of the kids in 4H with his pride and joy Boer Goats. Joe B was a one-of-a-kind, great-hearted man. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. But we are proud to say, " We know Joe and Dorothy are resting high on that mountain." Survivors include son, Joe Bud Tipton of Menard, Texas. Two sister-in-laws, Pat Craig of Gallup, New Mexico. Thyra Tipton of Bloomfield, New Mexico. Joe B Tipton was laid to rest next to his beautiful bride on January 24, 2022. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Menard.
