Mr Jack Edward Catron

November 5, 1943 - December 18, 2021

Jack Catron, 78, of Menard, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 18, 2021. Jack was born November 5, 1943 in Glendale, Ohio to Wilford and Dessie Mae Catron. He graduated from Lamphere High School in Madison Heights, Michigan, and went on to pursue a career in drafting and engineering. He enlisted in the Army in October 1968, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam conflict as a sergeant. He was very proud of serving his country. After the military, Jack was a professional engineer in the oilfield valve, defense, and aerospace fields. During his years of engineering, he spent time with his building and woodworking passions. He loved to travel to see places and family. He would load up and go at the drop of a hat. He was always easygoing and pleasant natured, a quality that his family and friends loved. Jack is survived by his children, Renee Cole and husband Bob of Ft. Knox, Kentucky, Shannon Catron and wife Geri of Burnet, Texas, Gay Lynn Simmons and husband James of Menard, Texas, and Craig Catron and wife Carrie of Roswell, New Mexico; his brother Bill Catron; and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Wilford and Dessie Catron, his 2nd wife Edith Clifton, his 3rd wife Sharon Eden Catron, and his sister Shirley Zink. Memorial services will be held at The Historic 1904 Church at 109 Tipton St. in Menard, Texas at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022, followed by a meal at the American Legion Hall. Jack asked that his ashes be spread at the cemetery in Marble Falls, TX, with his parents and wives. Arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Menard.
