Flora Ann Bowden

Flora Ann Randolph Bowden passed away March 6, 2014, in San Saba, Texas at the age of 97. Funeral Services will be held at Cherokee Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 with Doug Suggs officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Cemetery in Cherokee, Texas. Flora was born September 16, 1916, to Herbert and Francis Randolph. She married J. Cecil Bowden on September 16th, 1939 in Cherokee. Flora was a lifelong resident of Cherokee. She was a Charter member of the Fire Department Ladies Auxillary, and she enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. She was an active member of the Church of Christ and the community. Flora was fond of everyone, loved to talk and visit with all of the community children around her and her love surrounded each one of them. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Flora left behind one daughter; Carolyn Swindall and husband Cronje of Gatesville, Texas. One son; Thomas Bowden and wife Elaine of San Saba, Texas. Two granddaughters; Stephanie Bowden Russell and Jennifer Azen. Three grandsons; Bradley Thomas Bowden, Brent Swindall and Scott Swindall. 9 Great-grandchildren; Sadie Swindall, Zachary Swindall, Hunter Swindall, Ethan Azen and Charlotte Azen, Nicole Bowden, Tommy Bowden, Major Bowden and Lindsey Bowden. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 8 brothers, a great-granddaughter and a grandson-in-law. Family request memorials to go to their Charity of choice.
