Ewell Ray Teague, Jr.

February 19, 1941 - June 2, 2021

Ewell Ray Teague Jr., 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, in Brady. He was born in Brady to Ewell Ray and Amanda (Watkins) Teague Sr., on February 19, 1941. He married Olee Young on September 16, 1982, in Brady. He lived in McCulloch County all of his life. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Camp Air, and former Army and National Guard (Vietnam). He loved Hillbilly Hits Music, cornerstone of the museum. He was a race car enthusiast, driver, dancing, fishing, relaxing with family and friends, and having fun. He helped others anyway he could, was a straight shooter, truck driver, and enjoyed BBQ and being around family. Ewell is preceded in death by his parents, sons Tommy B. Teague, and Charlie Wernecke, brother Benny Foster Teague. Ewell is survived by his wife, Olee Teague, three sons, Clayton Wernecke and wife Linda, Lawrence Wernecke, Freddie Wernecke and wife Rachel, daughter, Amanda Faye Veitch and husband John, sister Melba Mae Jones, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, June 4, 2021, at Heritage Funeral Home of Brady. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Heritage Funeral Home of Brady with the Tracy Pitcox and Darrell McCall, officiating. Burial will be at Camp San Saba Cemetery in McCulloch County. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Ray McMullin, Scooter McMullin, Evan McMullin, Jake Wernecke, TJ Blair, and Kevin Dotson.
