Cecilia Jane Pitcox

May 8, 1951 - August 11, 2021

Cecilia Jane Pitcox, 70, of Brady, went to her eternal resting place on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2021, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born May 8, 1951, in Brady, to Cecil and LuElla (Williams) Harper. She was a lifelong resident of Brady and married the love of her life, Alvin Lee Pitcox, Sr., on Oct. 24, 1969, in Brady. She worked for Walmart for many years before starting her own lawn service and later becoming a foster parent. She loved to sew, paint, do all sorts of crafts and took loving care of her plants. She loved her family deeply and especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always showed up to support them whenever possible in their extracurricular activities. Her absence here in this life will be greatly felt by all who cherished her. She is survived by a son, Alvin Pitcox, Jr. and Shonna Hardy, of Hondo; two daughters, Jeannifer Pitcox of Brady and Amanda Howell and husband, Tommy, of Rochelle; six grandchildren, Ashley Alexander and husband, John, of Arlington, Mason Howell of Greeley, Colo., Merek and Maddox Howell, of Rochelle, and Drake and Milly Pitcox, of Brady; and three great-grandchildren, Swayze, Lennon and Rinley Dunn of Arlington. She is also survived by a sister, Gena Braziel and husband, Joe, of Everman; and two brothers, Danny Harper and wife, Glenda, and Shawn Harper and wife, Judy, all of Brady; numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Melissa Hail and husband, Tom. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 47 years, Alvin Pitcox, Sr.; two sisters, Lydia Harper and Joyce Wills; and two brothers, Jackie and Terry Harper. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to: Hope From The Heart, P.O. Box 1207, Brady, TX 76825 or Hospice of San Angelo, 1933 University Dr., San Angelo, TX 76904. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Brady. Please view Mrs. Pitcox's online memorial at www.heritagefuneraltx.com
