Brenda Ann Mata, 58, of Brady, Texas passed away peacefully on January 20, 2022, in Hutto, Texas. She was an amazing and beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, Tia and Naan. Brenda took care of her family with a ferociously protective and loving heart. Whether she was traveling or sitting in her own backyard. Brenda enjoyed the outdoors and hanging out with her friends and family. Brenda's maiden name was Zapata, she married Antonio Mata Jr., on June 20, 1981. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brady, Texas. Brenda was a member of the Guadalupanas. She was a CNA, homemaker, artist, and crafting genius. Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Joe W. Zapata, her grandparents, Anselma Zapata, Catherino Zapata, Joe R. Reyna and Sara S. Reyna. Brenda is survived by her husband, Tony Mata, mother, Epifania (Fannie) Zapata, brother, Billy Zapata, sister, Amanda Zapata, daughter, Anna Cory and husband Drew, son, John Mata and wife Olivia, daughter, Maribel Mata, grandchildren, Alexandra Cory, Ian, Isaiah, and Ivan Mata, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, and Rosary will be from 7:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday, January 24, 2022, at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Father Terry Brenon, officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery following the service.
