Alpha Lee Crisp Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Alpha Lee Crisp Smith entered the kingdom of Heaven Tuesday, February 24th, 2015. Graveside services will be held February 28th at Rest Haven Cemetery in Menard. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, also in Menard. Alpha was born May 28th, 1922 to John and Maudie Cravey in Streeter, Texas. In 1940, Alpha married Clarence Crisp and went on to have four children. Alpha was the elegant white hydrangea, ninety-two years, young and as beautiful as ever. She was stunning, coming back year after year, always in full bloom. Our Matriarch was the definition of grace. Alpha blessed her family with her famous biscuits and gravy, sweet tea, and peach cobbler. Her hands sewed beautiful quilts for her many grandchildren and family. Preceding her in life was her husband, Clarence; her brother Herman Cravey; and two sons, Lieutenant Jimmy and Doyle Crisp. Survivors include: daughter Bonnie Mathis, daughter Kay and husband Larry Colley. Grandsons, Cory Colley and wife Crystal, and Chris Mathis; granddaughter Christa Lackey. Great-grandchildren Michelle Cockrell, Christopher Mathis, Bonnie McClure, Ryan Mathis, Caitlyn and Celsea Colley. Great-great grandchildren; Parker and Reighan Cockrell, Zachary McClure, Michael and Maykayla Mathis, and Paisley Mathis.
